Our first episode focuses on cats in Istanbul, Turkey. Cats are considered sacred animals in Turkey, so every stray cat on the streets has a name. The whole city seems to be home to cats, including "Saffron," the plump spice shop clerk, "Orcan," who competes for love on the rooftop of a tourist attraction, and even cats living in the World Heritage site, Hagia Sophia. Animal photographer Iwago Mitsuaki visits Dubrovnik, a World Heritage city on the Adriatic Sea. He is drawn to the old town by cats that jump between boats and cobblestones. He sees "Billy," a cat that is beautiful as it pounces on doves; "Lily," who shows off her yawning in a bar on Okinoshima Island; and "Kiko," who lets him photograph lizard hunting in a village overlooking the sea. A dog and a cat are dozing together in an old Soviet-made car parked in a vacant lot. Iwago says, "Cats that grow up under the open sky also have bigger spirits."

Animal photographer Iwago Mitsuaki meets cats in Sicily. Every morning at the fishing port, there is a restaurant where "feasts fly out." A little way off the coast is a mountain landscape.
