Dame Maureen Lipman Remembers... Absurd Person Singular
7.5 · 2022 · Documentary,Talk · ~15m
Maureen Lipman looks back on the filming of Alan Ayckbourn's Absurd Person Singular, recalling the joy of working alongside an exceptional cast at the very top of their game, who treated the comedy as if it was 'life and death'. Set across three Christmas Eves, Ayckbourn's sharply observed black comedy remains as fresh, uncomfortable and every bit as hilarious as it did when this acclaimed BBC production was first broadcast in 1985.
